Kadıköy is on the Anatolian side of Istanbul. It falls to the east of the southern mouth of the Bosphorus, which opens to the Sea of Marmara. It is surrounded by Maltepe district in the east, the Bosphorus and the Marmara Sea in the west, Üsküdar and Ataşehir districts in the north, and the Marmara Sea in the south. Its surface area is 25.20 km².
