-Hagia Sophia is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Istanbul. For nearly a thousand years after its construction, it was the largest cathedral in the entire Christian world.

-Throughout history, Hagia Sophia wanted to surpass the Temple of Solomon in Jerusalem, while Suleymaniye wanted to surpass Hagia Sophia. At the end of this competition, it was decided that the Sultanahmet Mosque would only surpass Hagia Sophia in order not to be too disrespectful to its ancestors, and the mosque was built with 6 minarets, which was unique in the Ottoman Empire.

-The Hippodrome from the Roman period, or At Meydanı as the Ottomans called it, is also where the emperor's private tribune, Kathisma, was located. The ruins of the 480-meter-long Hippodrome can still be seen in the lower parts of the building belonging to Marmara University. The Hippodrome, one of the largest and most important structures of Byzantine Istanbul, was located in the city center, right next to the imperial palace.

-According to written sources, the Basilica Cistern, which distributed water obtained from waterways and rain to the Great Palace where the emperors resided and the surrounding structures for hundreds of years, was also supplied with water from the Hadrianus Pipeline, one of the historical waterways.

-Topkapı Palace is the residence of the Ottoman Sultans, the administrative and educational center of the state. The palace, which was built by the conqueror of Istanbul, Sultan Mehmed II, between 1460-1478 and to which some additions were made over time, was inhabited by the Ottoman sultans and the people of the Palace until the mid-19th century.

-In addition to carpets and jewelry, famous Turkish silver works, copper, bronze souvenirs and decorative items, ceramics, onyx and leather, high-quality, high-quality souvenirs of Turkey form a rich collection. Western writers have devoted a large place to the Grand Bazaar in their travel books and memoirs.
